The Transfusion Medicine Department of UNICO Hospitals PLC celebrated World Blood Donor Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity on Sunday, highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation and recognizing the invaluable contribution of blood donors in saving lives.
The event was organized under the pragmatic guidance and supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ardra Kurien, and the Chief Medical Services (CMS), Brigadier General Dr. Sharif Ahmed.
The program was successfully coordinated and managed by Prof. Dr. Kazi Nawshad Hossain, Coordinator of the Transfusion Medicine Department. The event brought together renowned physicians, consultants, specialists, and healthcare professionals of the hospital to commemorate the global observance.
Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Omar Faruq, Prof. Dr. Ashrafee, Brigadier General Dr. Morshed, Dr. Fatima Yasmen, Dr. Masudar Rahman, Dr. Sanjda Haque, Dr. Abdul Rahim, Dr. Umme Kulsum Mouri, Specialist Dr. Farhana, Specialist Dr. Rubel, along with Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) of the department.
